Multiple Vulnerabilities in Amazon Web Services

  • Amazon DCV Windows client prior to 2023.1.9127
  • Amazon DCV macOS client prior to 2023.1.6703
  • Amazon DCV Linux client prior to 2023.1.6703 for all supported Linux distributions.

Overview

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Amazon Web Services which could allow a remote attacker to intercept or manipulate sessions, gain unauthorized access to sensitive data on the target system.

Target Audience:
All end-user organizations and individuals using Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon AppStream and Amazon DCV.

Risk Assessment:
High risk of unauthorized access to sensitive information, remote code execution or service disruption.

Impact Assessment:
Potential for data theft or system instability.

Description

These vulnerabilities exist in the native clients of Amazon Web Services due to insufficient security mechanisms in the communication between the client and the server, allowing an attacker to intercept and manipulate data in transit.

These vulnerabilities allow a man-in-the-middle attacker to access remote sessions, which may lead to the compromise of sensitive data or full control over the affected system.
