Overview

A vulnerability was reported in the Linux Kernel, which allows local attacker to cause denial of service conditions.

Description

Linux kernel is prone to a local denial-of-service vulnerability because it fails to properly bounds-check data before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer. The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "hfs_cat_find_brec " function and can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via an overly large catalog name length.
