Overview

A Vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Windows Address Book, successful exploitation of which could allow remote code execution if a user opens a Windows Address Book

Description

A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Microsoft Windows Address Book which could allow remote code execution if a user opens a Windows Address Book file located in the same network folder as a specially crafted library file.

Note: An attack can be successful, if only a user visits an untrusted remote file system location or WebDAV share and open a document from this location that is then loaded by a vulnerable application.

Apply appropriate updates as mentioned in the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS10-096
