Overview
A Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server which could allow a remote attacker to elevate privilege.
Description
This Vulnerability is caused because of Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server¿s failure to properly sanitize user-supplied input. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks. This vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to elevate privilege.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability will allow an attacker to take complete control of the affected system.
Workaround
- Enable XSS filter in the Local intranet security zone of Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9
