Overview
A information disclosure vulnerability has been reported in windows Ancillary Function Driver which could allow an attacker to locally access sensitive information on the targeted system.
Description
The vulnerability exists in Microsoft windows Ancillary Function Driver due to an error within the Ancillary Function Driver (afd.sys) while copying data between kernel and user memory. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by login with a valid credential and executing a specially crafted application file on the targeted system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in information disclosure from a higher privileged account on the target system.
Workaround
- Do not open executables from untrusted sources.
