Overview
A vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Office shared component, which could allow a remote attacker to bypass the ASLR security feature on the targeted system.
Description
Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) moves executable images into random locations when a system boots, which helps prevent an attacker from leveraging data at predictable locations.
This vulnerability exists in Microsoft Office shared component due to improper implementation of the ASLR security feature. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to view a crafted website using a web browser capable of instantiating COM components, resulting in bypassing the ASLR feature and could aid the ability to conduct further attacks.
