Overview
A privilege escalation vulnerability has been reported in Windows Winsock which could be exploited by a remote attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.
Description
This vulnerability exists due to improper validation of memory address by the Winsock API. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by logging into the target system and run a specially crafted code designed to elevate the privileges on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the current user, which could be used to conduct further attacks.
