Improper Certificate Vulnerability in Oracle Java SE and GraalVM

Overview

A vulnerability has been reported in Oracle Java SE and GraalVM products which could allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information and manipulate critical data on the targeted system.

Target Audience:
Individuals and organisational users of the above-mentioned Oracle products.

Risk Assessment:
High risk of unauthorized access, data manipulation, and information disclosure.

Impact Assessment:
Potential for unauthorized access to sensitive information, and data manipulation.

Description

Oracle products are used for several applications including enterprise-level data management, cloud solutions, software development, and business applications. They are employed across a wide range of sectors, including finance, healthcare, manufacturing, government, and retail, among others.

A vulnerability has been reported in Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, and Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition due to improper certificate validation. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by using APIs in the specified Component.

Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to obtain sensitive information and manipulate critical data on the targeted system.
